Water Main Installation

Purpose

To provide specifications and information on installation of ductile iron water mains in the city of San Francisco

Who Must Comply?

All construction projects that include the new installation, relocation, or other modification of a public water main operated by the SFPUC

  • Water Services, Valve Boxes/Covers, and Miscellaneous

  • Compliance Resources

The City Distribution Division (CDD) Standard Specifications and Plans for Water Main Installation contain the requirements for new low pressure (potable and recycled) water main installations in the city of San Francisco for pipelines smaller than or equal to sixteen (16) inches in diameter. The specifications and plans can be downloaded via the links below.
