Transmission Lines 7/8 Upgrades

What to expect:

• Project work hours are 7am thru 5pm,  Monday through Friday. Afterhours and weekend work may be necessary during tower raise and reconductor work activities.
• Crews will pass through City streets with large equipment, however the work itself occurs on SFPUC-right of way.
• Crews will use cranes and other equipment to reinforce the concrete tower foundations, structurally retrofit select towers, and will raise select towers by 9 or 16 feet.
• Finally, crews will install new conductor wires on the towers along a 12.5-mile stretch using football goal post like structures to string the lines safely above the ground.
• At no time will live wires be near members of the public or private structures. Power service to nearby buildings will not be affected.
